18th November 10am-2pm: Visit to Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project

This Trading Places visit will look at how The Sustainable Tourism Project in Cornwall  (CoaST) is transforming the Cornish tourism economy to enable it to deliver social, economic and environmental benefit for all ...as well as a fantastic holiday for visitors!

The visit is free for all rural community organisations and social enterprises from the South West and travel bursaries are available. A small number of places are avaliable for statutory agencies at a cost of £75. To book a place please click here

Saturday 5th December: "Preparing the Ground"

An action planning day for guardians of rural community organisations and social enterprises. This Action Learning Day is directed towards directors, trustees and anyone who is charged with overseeing the activity of rural community organisations and social enterprises.

Saturday 12th December: 10am - 2pm: Visit to St Minvers Community Land Trust
This Trading Places visit will look at how St Minvers CLT was able to provide affordable homes to local people in an area characterised by second homes for a glamorous clientele that includes Prince Harry, Pierce Brosnan and Hugh Grant. The Trust has managed to provide 12 self-build new homes that will be held in trust by the community at 31.3% of open market value. The project has been such an overwhelming success that more similar schemes are underway.
